When Jared was told about the new client, he saw his promised partner status move way up the board. Little did he realize that Oscar Rafferty was a diabolical menace!
You see Mr. Rafferty and his henchman, Tony Kozlow had plans for Jared and Sara Tate so that would not finish “Dead Even!” Jared had to win the case or Sara would be snuffed!
Jared could not tell his wife, the assistant DA prosecuting this case, anything about the “agreement” with Rafferty and Kozlow.
The insignificant burglary had turned into a murder/love triangle!
Sara was very frustrated with her husband seeing him going through her briefcase.
Who is “Sunken Cheeks?” Who?
Well it seems that Oscar and Tony have a protege on Sara’s side of the case as Sunken Cheeks threatens Jared’s life if Sara does not win the case.
As this case unfolds with many twists and turns, the novel is an enjoyable read!

I did not “even” know where this book came from!
Looking for another there, “dead” ahead I spotted ” Dead Even!”
Never thought about being dead even with my wife, we both have our places, but ,yes, maybe as husband and wife we are “even.”
Sara Tate knew she was not even with her husband, she had lost her job as an attorney!
Jared Tate works as an attorney at the highly regarded law firm of Wayne and Portnoy. While he has been there several years, the pressure to bring in new business has Jared wondering about his own position.
After months of searching for a new position herself, Sara, is hired as an assistant district attorney. Now they are even…
Needing to get started fast in her new job, Mrs. Tate “steals” a case off the desk of Evelyn Katz the secretary of the Early Case Assessment Bureau. The case was marked with a yellow Post-it note, “Request for Victor Stockwell.” Vic of course being the star of the ADA office. Sara gets back to her office and realizes the case is nothing but a burglary job done by a local criminal named Tony Kozlow. Little did she know this case could cost her her life, her husband’s life, and much more!
Watch for more details next week… (power outage on Sunday)

After having my internet service down for two days, it was very nice to open my email and find an email from Bookreporter.com stating “Congratulations you are one of ten readers to win Hostile Intent by Michael Walsh!”
Looking forward to receiving, reading and reporting on this new novel by Mr. Walsh.
Hostile Intent is the fourth book by author Walsh. A former journalist for Time Magazine, is the author of three previous novels: “Exchange Alley,” “As Time Goes By” (the controversial sequel to the movie “Casablanca”) and “And All the Saints,” winner of the 2004 American Book Award for fiction.
Look for my post on this book both here and at Bookreporter.com
New post tomorrow for Sunday Salon…
My beautiful wife read one of my recent posts and I received Dan Brown’s ” The Lost Symbol.” She is so thoughtful! Thank you!

Will the Google and Amazon fight over ebooks benefit us readers?
Will the authors and publishers be brash and stand up to Google?
Is the Authors Guild lawsuit frivolous?
Is Google truly going to take over the world?
Or will I be able to “ogle” more books for “free”?
Is the Kindle or the Cooler-ER the best e-reader for me?
Why has Google teamed up with CoolerBooks, a firm from the UK?
Amazon says and I quote: “is anti-competitive and violates antitrust laws because it provides Google an effective monopoly in the scanning and exploitation of millions of works whose copyright holders cannot be located or choose not to involve themselves in this class action.”
The Authors Guild, one of the parties to the settlement, said Amazon’s “hypocrisy is breathtaking.” “It dominates online bookselling and the fledgling e-book industry. At this moment it’s trying to cement its control of the e-book industry by routinely selling e-books at a loss.”
WOW! What a mess!
