Ken FollettOne of my all time favorites, Ken Follett has just announced that his new book “Winter of the World!”

What a great way to start the New Year with anticipation of a new novel by Mr. Follett!

Winter of the World – the sequel to Fall of Giants – is a story about a group of families in the dramatic events leading up to World War II, and during that tumultuous conflict itself.

There is an American family, a German family, a Russian family and two British families, and their desires and ambitions, and the events of the day, shape their relationships and fates in extraordinary ways.

Winter of the World, the second novel in his ‘Century’ trilogy, is due to be published in many countries in September 2012. Around the time of publication, Mr. Follett planning to visit the USA, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and several other countries.

I know as his others, Winter of the World will be a big hit!

The Bourne Objective – Eric Van Lustbader

Posted by admin | Great Fiction | Sunday 2 October 2011 22:24

the bourne objectiveThe clone foe for Jason Bourne…

Leonid Arkadin born Russian, trained by Treadstone is a renegade killer or is he…

Thinking what else could there be, author Lustbader proceeded to continue the chase between Leonid and Jason from the previous novel, The Bourne Deception.

Exceptional is the best word I can describe this riveting novel.

Severus Domna, a secret organization bent on world domination, has Jason squarely in their sights wanting to recover from him a gold ring with a secret encryption that unlocks a secret file in a laptop computer.

This file gives the location of King Solomon’s legendary gold.

The Treadstone people are supposedly gone, but resurrection comes through Frederick Willard and they are out to get Bourne again.

This frightful journey takes us around the world as usual but ends up in Tineghir. Where?

A different kind of end as Jason and Leonid sort of help each other battle Severus Domna.

Eighth in this series of Bourne novels can be now found on the bargain tables at the bookstores. Get a copy!

The Bancroft Strategy – Oldie but Goodie

This is kind of creepy…

You see this novel came out after the author, Robert Ludlum, had died.

A ghost writer… no, just plenty of pre-written material.

Anyway, a typical Ludlum novel, full of twists and turns.

Have you ever thought about a secret society ridding the world of supposed “bad guys?”

Eliminating those who might harm the greater good?

But what if that “fictional” society met its nemesis? Named Genesis.

A real controller, who could get things done in an instant, as he or she as the case may be, strikes fear in the hearts of the The Bancroft Foundation.

Andrea Bancroft has just been notified as to her joining the much revered Bancroft Foundation due to an opening. Her salary, $12,000,000 a year. What? She is stunned! But, something is stinky…

The financials at the foundation are not quite right Andrea surmises and she now knows she must find some answers.

Todd Belknap is a “secret agent” type who has been affected by the undercover operations of the Bancroft Foundation.

Andrea and Todd cross paths on their way to discovering some deep dark secrets about the foundation.

While this is no Bourne novel, the writer, whomever that is, did a really good job of making things very intriguing!

I highly recommend “The Bancroft Strategy”  and you can get a copy here!

Critical by Robin Cook

Have you ever had an operation? At the hospital?

Were you scared?

Was your family advising you not to have the procedure?

Did you think about all the germs?

Or are the doctors worse than germs?

Did you think about staph infections?

A minor operation, could you die?

Wow, this hospital looks and feels like a luxury hotel, but…

Laurie Montgomery, medical examiner, was very concerned about the upcoming knee surgery of her husband Jack, a fellow medical examiner.

Why shouldn’t she be? After all several patients had died at three different Angels Group Hospitals.

The patients were healthy, what was going on?

Angela Dawson, CEO of the hospitals was very concerned, but wanted the upcoming IPO for investors to go well to raise the necessary cash to keep her hospitals afloat. She didn’t want the medical examiner’s office to be nosing around in “her” business venture.

But people were dieing!

Why?

Laurie had to know why!

Read “Critical” and enjoy a great medical mystery!
